Core Value Graduate Amanda Liew 2012 Olympic Hopeful

The Inaugural event of the Olympic Youth Games hosted by Singapore was a history in the making  event, for it is the first time the future young Olympic hopefuls have the opportunity to be recognized and to test the water of their standards as they prepared for the upcoming Olympic Games in London 2012.

Amanda Liew, our Core Value Graduate is sixteen years old, she has been in the program for the last three years making her among some of the youngest students that has gone through Core Value Training.

Amanda has shifted from being put into competitive swimming by her well-intentioned parents to a world class athlete in swimming. She has come to love her sport and the amazing journey it has become in her life. Learning from Core Value Training that setting her own intentions and making choices based on what she loves, with the support of her CV Grad parents, has transformed her to become our very first potential future CV Olympian.

Amanda is the top female swimmer in Brunei. She  swims for the top level National squad representing Brunei in International and regional competitions all over the world.
She shattered practically every one of the national records meet after meet as she continued to improve on her own best time at each competition.

One of her proudest moments was when she was competing in the Rome FINA World Championship last year competing alongside her idols the legendary Michael Phelps the 8 times Gold Medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games as well as Stephenie Rice from Australia.

Recently, Amanda returned from The Dubai World Short Course Championship and again shattering her own records in her two strongest stroke, the Free Style and Breast Strokes.
Amanda currently is blending her very full A level studies at Jerudong International School in Brunei with her swimming as well as competing in Netball and football.

She plays the piano and participates in the debate team for Model United Nations as well as the Duke of Edinburg program.

This year, Amanda will be attending CV Grad Hawaii and CV Grad China going to Shangri La and Tibet with her two sisters and mom and dad!
