A Defining Moment A Defining Moment
Linda Chandler was an elegant powerbroker in Silicon Valley (USA) and helped finance and launch the high technology wave that began in many humble settings throughout the Bay Area in Northern California . At the height of her career in investment banking, she had a defining moment that changed her life forever. During a corporate takeover of some investment portfolios, Linda sensed something was not right. She launched her own investigation and discovered wrong-doing by the so-called "corporate savior". She warned the investment community but none of the firms wanted to fight on behalf of the thousands of investors. Linda said to herself "someone must demonstrate leadership and step forward. This can't be only about money. This is about integrity, ethics and saving investors".
She
led the battle against a corrupt, powerful corporate giant. It cost
her dearly. During the legal battle, Linda lost her huge personal
wealth, many property holdings, and her marriage crumbled. Her life
was threatened. In the end, the two partnerships (investment
portfolios) she saved were later sold for hundreds of millions of
dollars. The remaining 210 portfolios were lost and the monies never
recovered. Her corporate adversaries, several years later, were
sentenced to prison terms. Some of them fled abroad. She moved to
Florida and rebuilt her life. During the recent scandals of Enron,
WorldCom, Tyco, and many others ... the kind of principled leadership
displayed by Linda Chandler was sorely needed. From her hard-earned
lessons and real-life experiences in Corporate America, Linda designed
her trademarked "Core Value Training" program.
For the past twenty five years, she has been doing Core Value Training with her clients, senior executives and corporations in mainly executive retreat settings. In the mid-1990's Linda began doing CoreValue Training programs across the U.S. in a series of public programs. Then in early January of 2003, she was in a terrible car wreck with her partner that almost took their lives. Realizing that the speeding driver who ran the red light could have killed them when their Mercedes sports coupe was hit broadside, Linda knew her lifelong work in values training could have ended that night in a twinkling of an eye. Thus was sparked a serious commitment to take Core Value Training to the world.
After going through rehab for back injuries, Linda called a meeting in the Spring of 2003 of close friends, associates and former Core Value Training students. A team was formed to train other trainers and to expand Core Value Training internationally. Today, seven years later, the Core Value Training program has spread across the U.S. and has established strong programs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Tawian, Brunei and the People's Republic of China. Core Value Training graduate programs have been held in Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hawaii, California, Italy, Greece, Cambodia and at other numerous locations.
Also,
many requests for corporate Core Value Training are coming in monthly
from companies. Some of the largest financial services global firms
have recognized the immense value of this leadership program and have
retained Linda and her team to come in regularly to lead sessions of
Core Value Training for their staff. Who would know that a near tragic
car crash would propel the dramatic growth of this vital personal
development program and leapfrog it internationally. Call it fate,
coincidence, or precession ... Core Value Training is a valuable
process whose time has come.
Linda Chandler says: "Core Value Training (CV) is about transforming people's lives. We are grateful to all our students and volunteers and the team that is contributed to expanding CV all over the world, especially in the Asia-Pacific region." She remarked, "I welcome you to join us in class. You can sign up for CV1.0 on line ... right on this website. You will be glad you did. Invest in yourself and in your bright new future!"
